- We need to talk about the grid in Maya, which is also complicated and problematic. Let's take a look. I've got the grid disabled currently. I'll go up here into "display" "grid" and re-enable it. And we see some lines here. And I can dolly forward or back using Alt and right mouse button. Dolly in, dolly out. And I'm not seeing much in the way of grid lines. If I dolly in really close and move around with Alt and middle mouse, eventually I'll start to see grid lines and eventually I'll start to see numbers. And they're set up to whatever this scene was built at. Okay. So if I want to know what these grid numbers represent, my instinct is to go into, once again "display" "grid" and go into the grid settings or options.
