Blueprint 1: Listing MIDI devices

- [Narrator] In this chapter, we're going to learn how to interface a Midi hardware controller with Unreal engine. If you're unfamiliar with what Midi is at all just refer back to the first video of this whole course where we give a little overview of what it is. It's a protocol for communicating between different devices. And here we have a little hardware controller with some sliders that we're going to use to change parameters in our scene. So the first thing we need to do is we need to make sure the Midi device plug in is enabled. Now we're in Unreal engine 4.14 and as of this version this is built in to Unreal. So I go into my Edit menu. Go to Plug Ins. And we go to Input Devices and you can see we have a Midi device support plug in. We've enabled it already. If you haven't just enable it and Unreal will ask you to restart. And then just restart the scene.
