Camera position and clip planes
- [Instructor] Another critical consideration when constructing a natural environment in Maya is the placement of cameras, specifically the orthographic and perspective cameras and their respective clipping planes, or the distances at which that camera can operate. Anything outside the clipping planes is invisible to the camera. So if you want to be able to see your entire scene you need to make sure that the cameras are outside that scene and that the clipping planes are set to enclose that entire scene. So let's take a look. By default the top, side, and front viewport cameras are hidden. So we can make those visible by going into windows, outliner. And we see top front hand side. Let's select all those, I'll select top, hold down shift and select front and side, and then make those visible with a keyboard shortcut which is H, and that unhides this current selection.
