- [Instructor] In the previous movie, we saw how you can use a basic rule of thumb to create good proportions for a realistic character. Now let's look at some cartoony characters and how the basic principles apply here. And we have our archetypal characters on the left, the doughboy, then the baby type, then the heavy character, then the lanky guy, muscles, the hero and the heroine, and so on. So let's take a look at the lanky character. Now, this format can be transposed, and he has a long thin body, extremely, well, not a very long thin body. The body is about a kidney bean shape. And there are variations on this, it doesn't have to be exactly this dimension, but he will be characterized a bit like Goofy in the Disney pantheon, with long gangly legs, long limbs, kind of awkward, so let's see how we can transpose that formula onto completely different species and types of characters.
