Constructing animal snouts

- [Instructor] This is a very simple construction technique which will help you place design elements with a character. In this case, one of the most challenging ones is a figure with a very long nose or a snout. Dogs, mice, rats would be good candidates for this. How do you plot the nose? When you look at the drawing by itself, it's okay from this angle, but as you begin to move the figure around, it can be tricky. So the thing is, when you construct the character, to draw the eye line of completely around the character, not just the part that you see, but the part in the back as well, and the same goes for the center line also. Draw that around the back also. That gives you these two points, which you can then draw a line through. And the nose position is not mathematical. It's not a machine, you know. You have a bit of play with it, but it gives you the general idea as to where the nose or the tip or the point…
