Correcting arcs and spacing

- [Instructor] This is a scene that was animated straight ahead and, as you can see, it was drawn by hand. I didn't use and CGI or puppet system in this. But you can animate straight ahead with CGI or puppets, it's really a technique that's independent of the medium you're using. Now, the beauty of straight ahead animation is it tends to produce a looser scene which is what you want. And again, straight ahead meaning, as the name suggests, you do the first key, the second key, the third, the fourth, the fifth. So, one reason why a lot of people don't use straight ahead is there is a certain loss of control. It can lead to sudden increases in volumes if you're drawing by hand and it can result in some arc issues as well. Now, the volume thing is easy enough to fix, it just means if you're drawing it, you redraw that drawing. You know, you fix your volumes as you go. Fixing the arcs can be a different proposition.
