- [Instructor] Now that we have the basic carpet pattern defined, we can use that to create things such as normal maps. Now, normal maps will really define the height and the characteristics of the carpet. So let's do that first. So I'm going to find my Normal node here, which is right here. And then I'm going to right-click, Add Node, Normal. And what that will do is change my grayscale here for my Levels output into a normal map. So I'm going to connect those up. And hopefully, this is connected to your normals here. Now, one of the things is that we're not really seeing this. Now, we are creating carpet, so this cube is probably not the best object to view our material on. So let's change this to a Plane, hi-res. And then I want to see the height map actually displayed on this. So I'm going to, again, select this node here, right-click, drag it over that plane. Now, it's going to ask me how I want to connect this. And I'm actually going to connect this to Height. What that will do…
