Creating the macro-pattern in grayscale
- [Instructor] In this exercise, and the light gray, and really make sure that they flow that we see those random breaks in color In this case, this'll be a grayscale mask I'll combine with a fractal sum base to produce not overlapping randomized vertical red streaks that will then lay into our micropattern. I'll let the pattern be a square and I'll scroll down. and so what I'll do is randomize X and Y interstices, We're starting to get a neat streak pattern but there's a lot of it, so what I'll do is bring up the random mask to take out We may want to turn on luminants by scale to see what it does, but I like the way the mask is working. We've definitely got a good pattern of long and short streaks that overlap. long and short streaks that overlap. Now it's time to pull more out of this, rather pieces out of these very solid rectangles. I'll add in a fractal sum base, hitting the space bar and typing in FRA, hitting the space bar and typing in FRA, and…
