- This is another series of drawings from my previous course, Animation Foundations: Drawing cartoon characters. It's one of my best courses. It's in the library, but I just want to give you a little taste of it here because this kind of stuff, I see it all the time and it drives me absolutely bonkers. (laughs) And I know that some of it's a function of puppets, people working flash, harmony, that kind of thing. You often have this need to close off areas. So the reason why you'd see a lot of this in a lot of puppet shows is because this area here would all be on a separate layer, and so it's just easier if it's closed off and you can move it or you can do more things with it. But if you are drawing, then you should absolutely try to open them up like this.
