Dividing in thirds and fifths

- [Instructor] In the previous movie, I demonstrated how to divide a space into halves. And this is a well known trick in perspective in art and this is also important in animation because it gives you a feeling if you're animating objects in depth, just how far back you have to push the halfway point. So, if I were to animate something coming toward the camera, often you have to push it further back than you'd guess somewhere like here, but in fact you're pushing you're halfway point much further back than a guess would often tell you. It's very deceptive. And then we can subdivide this. Of course again, so we can have quarters. So it's a great way to divide a space in three dimensional depth by halves and quarters. But there might be times when you have to divide it into thirds or fifths and this system certainly fails then. So let me show you how to do that. You may never need to use this, but in the event that you do, this trick could come in very handy indeed. So, this trick…
