Dresses
- [Instructor] Clothing is a really big challenge when you animate because it can be hard to control all these folds and make them move smoothly. You also have the design challenge of how to draw nice shapes as well as the task of making them move well. So, there's a really important design principle to remember both when drawing and animating them and that is that the hem of a dress or a garment is constructed usually out of some kind of O-shaped loop or a figure eight loop, a basic form like this. Now, you can add more folds which I've done in the middle image as you can see right here, see this little loop. It's clearly more complex than the figure eight. I've just made a little variation around it but the rest the dress conforms to a figure eight loop and I've done something similar right here and that's okay.
