Firing a weapon

- [Instructor] Now let's take a look at some self-defense. How does the character take out the enemy? And we have this weird little blaster cannon here. So let's zoom in on that and have a look at it. And as you can see, I've animated three different versions: low, medium, and high. Let's look at the low version. And remember, the player pushes the red button. They don't want to have to wait three seconds for the firing. So this is about as slow as you probably would want a weapon to discharge. And you could also at even maybe depending on code programmers might just go, "You know what? "If we just trigger this animation here, it'll play better "'cause the player knows, I push the button, fire. "Fire now, bang." So at least this way I've given them a bit of kickback so that again, the people who assemble this in software have more freedom now. They can say, "Right, we like the anticipation," or they might say, "You know…
