Generating light map UVs

- [Narrator] Although creating unique lightmap UVs for every static mesh found in a level can potentially be quite a bit of work to get through, let's just briefly touch on the options that are made available in order to help us get that job done. First of all then, we could, if we wanted, do the UV work in our DCC application of choice, so maybe Houdini or 3ds Max, using tools that we already know in order to add a second UV channel and then make sure that every part of the mesh has a unique UV cluster or island applied to it. This is probably the approach that gives us the greatest level of artistic freedom and control, but it is also the one that could potentially be the most time consuming. An optional alternative then is to consider creating our lightmap UVs right here in Unreal, with the engine being able to make it a fairly quick and painless, though less refined, process.
