Hair, fur, and clothing
- [Instructor] The animation of hair or clothing will be largely determined by the animation of the character elements. This is why it's a mistake to animate secondary elements until the primary is finished. Here's fairly simple action, but notice how intricate the movement on the dress is even with such a straightforward left to right motion. The animation of the dress will be totally different if the speed or direction of the figure were to change. So again, always be sure that your body is moving the way you want before you spend a lot of time animating clothing or hair. That said, some secondary action can be very basic if the object is short or small like this cropped hair. As the hair or clothing gets longer, you need to be more and more careful about animating it and more certain about your primary animation because you wouldn't want to have to reanimate all of these hair elements for no good reason.
