Introduction to HDRP

- [Narrator] HDRP is short for High Definition Rendering Pipeline. It allows for truly amazing scenes once applied. It's a high-end processing tool to bring out AAA quality in your scenes and games. As a warning, if your computer is a bit old and lacks the latest CPUs and GPUs, I'd recommend you skip adding HDRP, or save a copy of a project before applying HDRP, so you can revert back. Let's explore how to add it to your scene. So, the first thing you need to do is bring up the Package Manager, so you need to click on Window, and then Package Manager and then, what you need to do is to make sure that you're showing all packages and then you're also showing preview packages as well. And then, click Yes and then scroll down until you see HDRP. This one. Once you've found HDRP, you can go ahead and install it. Once you have HDRP installed, you can click and close the Package Manager, like so. And then, what you need to do is go into your Assets and we'll need to create an HDRP profile. So, you do this by right-clicking into the Assets folder, Create and then Rendering and then HDRP or High Definition Render Pipeline Asset. And then, let's call this "HDRP" and we'll look into the settings later on when we start rendering and baking our lights. So, the first thing you need to do to continue setting up HDRP, you need to go into the Project Settings inside of Edit, right here. And then, go into Graphics and then for the Render Pipeline Asset, you need to select the HDRP file that we just created, like so. And now, everything should be pink in your scene and that's normal, so we need to change a few things before we actually see our scene again. And then, what you need to do is go inside of Player and then, in the Other Settings for the Color Space, you need to select Linear. And it's because only the linear color space is supported with HDRP. Okay so, once you have selected Linear Color Space, you can close the Project Settings. And now, the last step that we need to do before we move on to the next video is go into the Edit section and then Render Pipeline, and then, what you need to is Upgrade Project Materials to High Definition Materials. So, this is going to upgrade all of your materials to the HDRP methods, so let's go ahead and do that. And what I'm going to do is close out on this, because this is going to take a while and let's meet in the next video.
