Leading actions

- [Instructor] In a previous movie, I showed you how to loosen up animation by using things like leading actions, and this was a very good example because it shows you how you can lead an action in different ways, so, on the anticipation here, he's actually leading from the shoulder, that's the part that's doing the most interesting action, but then the elbow is taking over, here it's leading, and then finally the finger leads, so let's take a look at what this looks like in animation. That was the final scene, and you can see how the actual leading works. Let me go through it a little slower, like frame by frame, so he's leading with the shoulder, then elbow, then the hand, so it happens very quickly. By letting different parts of the body lead at different points in the scene, you get this really nice effect.
