- [Instructor] In a previous movie, we talked about how many frames you need for a physical pose like the full-body pose to register on the eye. In this movie, we're going to look at expressions. And again, I'm going to go back to Eric Goldberg, because this is material taken from his book the "Character Animation Crash Course," which I strongly recommend if you haven't bought it already. So in chapter eight of that book, on timing, he says that you need 12 frames is about enough for a facial expression to register. So I thought I would do a little test scene, very crude, very simple. We have our figure just here. We give him like a little growl. So what I want to figure out is how many frames does it require for the audience to see he's losing his patience.
