- [Instructor] As I suspect you maybe able to guess where this conversation is going to be heading if you have watched any of my other courses here in the online library. I will try to keep this as brief as possible, but given that the choice of application we should use when it comes to texturing is a question that people do ask frequently, it is something that we should at least briefly discuss here. Simply put then, there are many, many options open to us when it comes to working up the textures that we want to use in a level. So we can paint our own in applications such as Adobe Photoshop or Corel Painter. We can create them procedurally in programs like Substance Designer, and we can use photographs in conjunction with applications such as Bitmap to Material if we like, and we can purchase or use textures that people have given away for free, if we are legally allowed to do so, and we can even subscribe to whole texture libraries in order to be able to use anything from there…
