Overshoot and settle

- [Instructor] The other side of the anticipation equation is the overshoot and settle. Here you can see the overshoot in blue settling into black. Many actions don't move to a mechanical stop, they go slightly beyond their final position and then ease or settle back into it. This character points dramatically with great emphasis. To achieve this, you have to have an anticipation first, here marked in green, but also a nice overshoot frame, again in blue, and this gives the action the punctuation. Otherwise limited characters can also benefit from this method as they can particularly need that pantomime quality of overshooting and settling. So here we have our featureless wheeled robot, and he's anticipating in green, he's overshooting in blue, and that gives us some business.
