- [Instructor] This is an animation that I created for a previous course I did about how to animate monsters and aliens. I go into this in much greater detail there. But I wanted to show you how I approach this scene. And I did it by using the pose to pose method. Now in a previous movie, I spoke about the straight ahead approach to animation. In this case, we're going to compare it with the pose to pose approach, and see how they differ. So in straight ahead, as the name suggests, you would begin with the first key, do the second, the third, the fourth, and the fifth. That's not how I created this sequence because I wanted to have a little more control over it. So let me show you the process. So I knew where I wanted to start, and I knew where I wanted to stop, fairly self-explanatory. I wanted to have a strange alien who could cover a huge amount of distance with a single step.
