Snapping objects
- [Instructor] Another way to move objects precisely is to snap them to grids or to each other. Now Maya has a number of different snapping options, and I'm going to show you a few of those. Now snapping options are right up here. There's all these ones that look like a magnet. And the easiest one to use is snap to grid. Now we are snapping to the grid in the scene. Now if your grid is different sized, all you have to do is right-click over the grid icon and go into grid options. And you can change your length and width, as well as your subdivisions. So, if I select this object, and turn on snap to grid. When I move it, you can see the pivot point of the object is snapping to those grid points. So this is essentially, pivot-based. And so, if I wanted the bottom of this to snap, I'd have to move the pivots. I'm going to go ahead and click off my snapping. Hold down the D key and move my pivot point down to kind of like…
