- [Narrator] So, this is my wizard animation. I use this character to illustrate lots of different principles of a traditional animated scene. In this case, I'm going to use him to illustrate staging, because this was my basic staging of a character. But I didn't have to animate this scene from this direction. I could have picked different camera angles. Why did I pick this camera angle? Let's find out. Again, this is the camera angle I decided to invest most of my time in. And I spent quite a bit of time on the background, probably a few days at least, drawing all of this stuff. The reason being, I can reuse this background for many different shots and it's also the best angle to illustrate that particular action. So, I could also have done this angle. It's much more dramatic, much more cinematic, and we're talking here now about staging the scene.
