- Before we dive in further into light baking, let's explore into unity how you can see texels and use them to your advantage. I went ahead offscreen and started and stopped a bake, so we could see the texels in the baking light map. So now you should go to your scene here and click on the shade, you're going to have a drop down menu, and you can actually select in the bake global illumination section, bake light map, and you want to make sure that show light map resolution is on. So when you take a look at this, you're seeing the resolution of each of the objects in your scene for the texels. So the smaller the squares, the more resolution for that object. So for example our chairs have a high resolution for the texels, that means that the information that we're going to get from the lighting is going to be minimal for those chairs but then the table is going to have a lot of information, and so on and so forth.…
