Understanding material instances
- [Instructor] Now we're going to apply different materials to different parts of this structure. And to do that, we know that the Megascans folder has the surface folder, which will have all the relevant material. The first one would be the dark wooden planks, and this is the material I want to apply to this main structure or the building. So I'll drag and drop this, and you'll see that the material is applied to the structure. Now probably you won't see this material like this, So if I double click on it and scroll down, I've already tilled it to four and you would probably see something like this, it means that you need to tile this material. So let's just go ahead and double click on this material and bring in this material to see some properties. This is the albedo or the texture, so if I turn this off, you will see that it brings in the base texture that was included in master material. So I have the albedo, the…
