- [Instructor] Usually when we model, we start with very simple objects, and then we refine them. So typically we get something like this, which is a very nice coffee cup, but it still has a lot of very sharp edges. Now, we can round those edges off in a number of ways, and probably the most common way is to use what's called a bevel. Now, the bevel tool can work on edges or faces. So let's take a look at how this works for an edge first. I'm going to right click, go into Edge mode, and then I'm going to double-click on this, Shift + double click here and here. So basically I just want that whole outer edge of that handle. And then we can go into the Bevel tool. And what this will do is it essentially creates a bevel. So we have the fraction, which is how much of this is beveled. How many segments, the depth, which is how close to one side or another this is, and whether or not we want to chamfer this.
