Accessing and working with controllers in the UI
- [Instructor] Besides understanding the basics of just what controllers are and how they work in 3ds Max, we will of course also need to know how to both access and use them from inside the Max UI, which is exactly what we will look at in this particular exercise. Now there are probably three main ways inside the UI that we will use in order to work with and assign controllers, these being the Motion panel, the Track View editor in either its Curve or Dope Sheet modes, although I would typically recommend sticking to the Curve editor because of its more visual feedback, and we also have the Animation menu. Lets take a look first of all then at using the assign controller rollout in the motion panel, as the process for working in there is fairly straight forward. All we need do then is select an object, go to the Motion panel, making sure that we are in the parameters section, and then open up the Assign Controller rollout where we will find a tree view of the controllers that have…
