- [Instructor] Probably the most straightforward type of animation that can be created in 3ds Max is that of taking an object in the scene and moving or transforming it from one point in 3D space to another. What though if the object that we want to move needs to follow a more complex path than just a simple straight line? In fact, what if the route that we want it to travel on needs to go through all three of the axes available in 3D space? Well, in that instance we will perhaps want to consider using the simple and yet deceptively powerful option of path-based animation. In our start scene then we have our toy cars along with a simple looking and yet at the same time deceptively complex track that we want to animate our cars around, a track that as noted travels on all three axes in space and of course, the setup here could have been much more complex than it is.
