Adjusting light intensity and color
- [Instructor] Among the most essential properties of any light are its intensity and color. We'll set those up for this photometric light, select the light, and in the Modify panel, we have a rollout labeled Intensity/Color/Attenuation. Intensity can be measured in different systems. The default is candelas. We can also choose lumens or lux at a certain distance. Most people are familiar with the lumens system, because that's how lighting instruments are rated when you buy a light bulb in the store, it's rated in lumens. So I'll set intensity to lumens, and we see that the default value here is almost 19,000 lumens. For a point of reference, an incandescent light bulb, an old school one, with a 75-watt power load, is going to put out about 1500 lumens. So not 19,000, but 1500. Let's try typing that in here. Lumens value of 1500 and press Enter. We see that we get a very dim shot, it's not putting out very much light.…
