Ambient occlusion render pass

- [Instructor] The second rendered layer is the ambient occlusion or AO pass. Combined with the diffuse pass, the AO layer creates depth in your imagery by adding self shadowing to the objects in your scene and that's basically the best way to describe what AO is. Ambient light being occluded by the underside surfaces or self shadows. Let's start by creating a AO material. So, in your scene you can either click on the material editor over here or you can press M to open up the material editor. Up in the left hand side we have a physical material, I'm going to rename that Arnold AO, and then I'm going to click on the map slot next to the base color material. And we will go to maps and we'll go to Arnold and down here in the surface section there's an ambient occlusion map, so select that and click okay. Now it's going to add the ambient occlusion map to the material. And let's change this to 24, the samples to 24. Leave the spread the way it is and pretty much everything else is fine…
