- [Instructor] X-view is a handy tool for identifying problems with polygon mesh objects. It's a feature of the Max view port and it only works on meshes. X-view tests the selected mesh for certain conditions, such as open edges or overlapping UVW coordinates. And X-view highlights or selects the sub-objects that meet the test criteria. For a test object, let's use a teapot primitive. From the create panel, click teapot, drag in the view port, and right click to exit object creation. Now let's check out the X-view menu. It's going to be found in the view port label menu. On the far left is a plus sign which is the view port configuration menu. Click on that plus sign. And you'll see X-view. And let's activate the first option here, show statistics. This enables a heads up display in the upper left corner of the view port.
