Choosing interface and tool defaults

- [Narrator] Depending upon your industry, design discipline or artistic medium, you may want different settings for the 3ds Max renderer, lights and materials, and that's accomplished through the Customize menu. Go to Customize, Custom Defaults Switcher. On the right side, we see UI schemes. I recommend you leave that at the default UI. Later we'll see how to customize the user interface. The important settings here are in initial settings for Tool Options. And these are presets that are designed to correspond with different use cases for 3ds Max. And in the main body of the window, there's some descriptive text. If we click on Max up here at the top, we will see the initial settings for Max, that is the default. We're going to be using the Arnold renderer, and we're also going to be using physically based materials in the Material Editor by default, and the display properties of objects will be determined by the…
