Composing a shot with safe frames

- [Narrator] Once you've established the aspect ratio, using the output size parameters in the render set up dialogue, as we saw in the previous movie, then you're ready to make your final informed decisions about your camera composition. In this case I have a locked down camera shot, and I don't really need the camera target, so I am going to disable that. Select the camera, go to the modify panel, and disable targeted. That just simplifies my life a bit because now I only have one object in my scene to represent the camera instead of two. Let's talk about composition. Going over to our visible camera view port, we see that its a certain shape. That shape is fluid. The aspect ratio of the view port can be adjusted simply by dragging on the edges of the view port. And now we have a very wide aspect ratio. And the aspect ratio of the view port has no relationship to that of the actual rendering.
