- [Instructor] The view port rendering technology in 3ds Max, known as Nitrous, is very powerful and gives us pretty good results. In fact, we can almost get production-quality results merely be rendering out a preview animation. To do that, we'll want to set up the quality for nitrous in our camera view port. So go into the view port menu to the shading menu that normally says standard and in that menu, we can choose these different display modes. You might be tempted to choose a high quality mode, but if you did that, you would not have any control over the various components of the rendering. I don't recommend using high quality mode. Instead, go into per view presets and set the rendering level to advanced. Then under lighting and shadows, we want to illuminate with scene lights. We want to enable shadows. We also want to enable screen space ambient occlusion but the default values are a little bit too extreme,…
