Creating and setting project folders

- [Instructor] 3ds Max, like most 3D programs, relies upon a project folder structure to track the links between various types of files. A 3D project is almost never just a single file. It usually includes links to things like textures and sounds and externally referenced scenes and so on. To track all those links, 3ds Max uses a project folder structure. I'm going to show you how to create a folder structure from scratch and also how to point to an existing folder structure. And that's all done from this toolbar, which is displayed by default at the upper right of the interface on the main toolbar, and that's the projects toolbar. The commands on the projects toolbar are also found within the file menu in the project section, but I do prefer to use the toolbar because it displays the current project at all times and we can easily switch between projects just by choosing from this pull-down list.
