- [Instructor] The working pivot is a coordinate system that can be useful to transform objects or sub objects relative to temporary frame of reference. It's helpful in modeling a layout, but similarly to the selection center and transform coordinate center options on the main toolbar, the working pivot cannot be used for animation. An object can only be animated relative to its actual pivot point or the pivot point of its parent. But working pivot can come in handy in situations like this. I want to scale the polygons of this chest object, but its pivot point is not in a convenient location for that scale operation. I want to scale down from the top of the chest, but the pivot point is located down here. And that's a good pivot point location for rotating the chest, it's just not convenient for this scale operation I want to perform. I could move the pivot and then move it back, but I don't need to because I can just scale…
