Deforming a particle system with the Mesher compound object

- [Instructor] Modifiers are designed to work with particular types of objects. For example, a geometric deformer can be applied onto a polygon mesh but not to a dynamic system like particles. However, there is a way to accomplish exactly that. Apply a geometric deformer to a particle system, and that's done using the Mesher compound object. It can be applied to any type of object, but it's specifically designed for particle systems. I've got a simple snow particle system in my scene. I'll select that emitter, go over to the Modify panel. We see it's got very few parameters. We can press Play, and it just drops some snowflakes over the course of 300 frames. Let's convert the particles to a mesh so that then we can deform them and cause them to move in a different direction. Go over to the Create panel, and from the pull-down list, choose Compound Objects. And you don't need to have anything selected, so I'll just click off…
