- [Instructor] Continuing from the previous movie, we're going to extrude some more polygons near the base of this column to create some ornamental details. We need edges in order to do that. We can't just extrude from the middle of a polygon. So let's quick slice some edges near the base here. I've zoomed in very tight in the left view. That's so we can see individual centimeter grid lines. We want to enable snapping to the grid. Currently, Snap Toggle is off, so let's turn that on. And you might also want to right-click and just make sure that you're only snapping to grid points. Grab the Quick Slice tool, we'll want to select the object and in the modeling ribbon, choose Quick Slice. Go over to that left view and maybe get in a little bit closer, CTRL, ALT and middle mouse. We want a new edge loop just one centimeter above the base here. So I'll click once, click twice, and now we've got an edge loop there. Let's do…
