Drag-and-drop V-Ray assets

- [Instructor] One nice workflow improvement that we have received in V-Ray Next is the ability to add V-Ray assets to a scene using a simple drag and drop process that makes adding certain elements as easy as swapping files around in Windows with the type supported including .vrmesh, .abc, .vrscene, .IES, .aur, .f3d, .vdb, .vrlmap, and .vrmap, meaning there are quite a range of assets that can very quickly be added to any scene that we like. If you are starting with a blank new scene in 3ds Max though, as I am here, one potential gotcha to keep in mind is that we will still need to set up V-Ray as the production renderer before the drag and drop process will have any effect. And so if I drop a vrmesh into my scene here, for instance, as the production renderer, nothing happens. I can drop that in with no problem at all. And as you can see, adding the other asset types is just as easy with drag and drop IES files very nicely adding an IES light into the scene for us, as well. And, of course, while this seems a very small feature in terms of demonstrating it to you, the time saving possibilities over the multiple mouse click the time saving possibilities over the multiple mouse click and navigate to folders alternative is very welcome indeed. and navigate to folders alternative is very welcome indeed.
