Editing a physical material
- [Instructor] In the previous movie, we opened up the material editor and created a physical material, assigned it to all the objects in our scene, and made a basic change to it's base color. Now let's go a little bit deeper into the physical material parameters. I'll change that base color once again. Just click on that color swatch, and set that to no saturation and bring the value down a little bit to, maybe, .3 or so. And let's talk about roughness. Roughness is a measure of how porous the surface is or to what degree it has tiny, fine, little micro details on it. And over in the physical materials parameters, under basic parameters, we see a roughness field. And if we click and drag on that spinner, we can increase the roughness. And if I bring that up to a value of one, and we don't see any shiny highlights on our material any longer. So roughness is how we determine the reflectivity of a surface.
