Environment settings in Arnold
- [Instructor] Environment mapping in Arnold give us many options for illumination and backdrop. We can even control how the environment effects various lighting components such as Diffuse and Specular. These are things we simply can't do in ART because of it's strict adherence to physical phenomenon. If you can't do it in the real world you can't do it in ART. But in Arnold we can bend or break the rules of physics to achieve the goal of image making. I've got a scene set up with an Arnold physical sky let's do an active shade rendering. Through the scene environment Arnold physical sky is providing the illumination and also the background or backplate. As we saw in a previous movie the problem with rendering the background here as we see is that if we want to composite a different background in post we may have problems with the edge pixels being anti-alias with this background color.
