Extruding splines with the Sweep modifier
- [Instructor] There are many ways to convert a spline or a line into a polygon mesh. One of the simplest is a sweep modifier that extrudes a profile along that line to create a 3D shape. So let's add a sweep modifier to this circle. Select the circle, go in to the Modify panel, and from the Modifier list, scroll down and choose Sweep. Here it is- sweep. And the default values cause kind of a strange situation here, we can dolly back with CTRL ALT and middle mouse. Just to show you what the sweep is capable of doing, let's change some of these values. We've got Section Type up here, and this is the type of profile. So let's just leave it at angle. Scroll down a little bit, and you see we've got some parameters, and the parameters will be different for each of those profile types so that we can see what an angle does. Let's set the corner radius values to zero and zero, set the length to a value of one, press tab, and set the width to a value of one, press tab, and set the thickness to…
