Image-based lighting with an environment map
- [Instructor] We've got a good set up of a neutral studio environment for our product shot. And we can start adjusting materials now. However, because the background environment is only a flat color, we won't see much detail in the reflections on surfaces. To get a better sense of what the materials are going to look like in a proper environment, we can use image based lighting. I'm going to replace this cyclorama with an image background. Select the cyc object, go into the Layer Explorer, and it's already selected. And we can create a New Layer with the selected object, click on the plus sign. And then we want to rename this, I'll call it Backdrop. And then hide that layer. And make the default layer current by click on it's layer icon so that any new objects will be placed into that default layer. We can then close the Layer Explorer, and go into the Environment and Effects dialog. Rendering, Environment. And…
