- [Instructor] Importing a file into 3DS Max is fairly straightforward. Before importing though we should really look at our project setup. And I'm going to show bringing in that FBX one more time. It's important to bring it in correctly. It is fairly straightforward, but there are some minor places you can get stuck on if you're not careful. What I'll do first though is to set up my project. I'll choose file and set project folder. A 3DS Max project is a relative project structure. It'll have subfolders in it such as scenes, scene assets are images that are parts of our textures, import and export and so forth. I've browsed into my exercise files folder into the chapter two section. You're chapter two folder will come with a 3DS Max project set, and so if you're working in a different directory or without the exercise files you can make a project.
