- [Instructor] When it comes to being able to output high quality images from any render engine, one of the things that we need to recognize is that a lot of the power and a lot of the functionality and quality that comes from the engine is down to the materials and maps that have been written specifically for it with V-Ray 5 being no exception in this regard. Although we do need to note from the start here that V-Ray 5 and especially the CPU version is perfectly capable of working with a number of 3d S Max materials right out of the box. Materials such as the physical MultiSoft and PBR offerings, that can also be used with the art and Arnold engines in Max. If we typically find ourselves having to switch between these renders on different projects, then learning to master each of these materials in depth would probably make sense, because obviously that knowledge and expertise can then be transferred from project to…
