Keyframing sub-objects with the Master Point controller

- [Instructor] One of the lesser known features of the 3ds Max animation tool set is the Master Point controller. This is the animation controller for points on editable objects. And it allows us to directly keyframe sub objects, such as vertices, edges and faces. Sometimes building a rig is a better workflow than the Master Point controller. A series of point helpers and linked XForm modifiers can do the same job. But that involves a lot of setup, and it isn't necessary in certain simple scenarios such as this one. In this example I want to animate a motion graphics effect where the faces of the box can move and scale independently of one another. And in this case, the Master Point controller is the best approach. It involves no rigging setup. All we need to do is create the tracks for the animated vertices and keyframe them normally.
