- If we've exported the AOVs that comprise all of the light present in our scene, then when we add all those AOVs together, we'll get the same result as the beauty pass. But of course when we render out separate passes we have the ability to adjust the exposure, contrast, and color of each one of those separately. We've got the beauty pass here, illustration_hdri_production.exr and we'll use that as the base layer and that will include the background here. So select illustration_hdri_production.exr in the Project window, right click and choose New Comp from Selection, and that creates a new composition and we have a single layer in that composition which is our exr document. Previously we disabled the alpha channel for that beauty pass, so we're seeing the background here. Now we're going to stack some of these other layers on top. Let's go for the diffuse direct layer first, because that's a good teaching example.…
