Managing display layers

- [Instructor] A parallel method of organizing 3D scenes is to place objects into display layers. That allows us to show or hide, or freeze or unfreeze many objects all at once. Display layers are found in a window called the layer explorer and it's a variation of the scene explorer. We can open it from its button on the main tool bar, toggle layer explorer. By default it's going to appear at the bottom of the command panel, and I find that I need to make this window larger in order to work with it. Currently I've got my layout locked so unlock that, customize, turn lock UI layout off, and then drag that layer explorer out, make that window larger and re-lock the layout. In the layer explorer you see that I've got a whole bunch of layers already and I'm going to create a new one in a moment but let's just go over the basic controls of the layer explorer. It's not hierarchical like the scene explorer. So for example…
