Manipulating sub-objects without changing mapping with Preserve UVs

- [Instructor] Preserve UVs is a feature of Editable Poly, which as the name indicates, will preserve a UV layout while you transform sub objects such as points, edges, and polygons. It is a feature of Editable Poly. I've got a plane here that's been converted to Editable Poly. We'll need to be in modify mode. We can do that by making the modify panel visible. Preserve UVs can be found on the modify panel here in the edit geometry rollout, preserve UVs. It can also be found on the modeling ribbon. So here's the modeling ribbon and here's the button to preserve UVs. Let's go into some sub object modes such as edge and enable preserve UVs. And we can double click to select an edge loop, grab the move tool, move that edge loop around and we see that the pattern, which is a bitmap, is not disturbed. This UV checker test bit map shows the UV layout and as we move our sub object selection around, the mapping remains…
