Modeling with the Symmetry modifier
- [Tutor] Symmetry is a modifier which gives us the ability to model bilaterally or radially symmetrical objects and well, this seems at the same time. That way we can avoid any issues along that seam, that may arise when we add subsequent modifiers, such as open sub div. I have prepared a box primitive here. Such that I've got an open border and the pivot point is positioned exactly on that border. The reflection plane of the symmetry modifier, will be placed at the pivot point by default. With the object selected, I'll go to the modified panel. And from the modify list, we'll add a symmetry modifier. The symmetry modifier has two modes, planar and radio. We do want a plane and reflection, and that is the default. We can choose up to three mirror axes here, to reflect the shape in three different directions. The default mirror access is Z.
