Modeling and texturing an orange slice
- [Instructor] In this video we're going to create the slice of the orange. You must be thinking why I haven't modeled this in the previous chapter. Well here is the answer. What I would have done is created a sphere and then I would have turned on the slice and created a slice very quickly and easily. But if I press F4 and I see the topology, that's definitely very bad. We have a lot of segments in this area and we don't have much segments in this area. This would be one problem. Secondly, we'll have two different materials. One is the inner material and it would definitely be very difficult to set that inner material on this surface over here. And the outer skin material on this surface over here, that would definitely have taken time. So another quick approach is using this piece over here and quickly slicing that and keeping the texture reserve. So I'm going to show you how we can quickly create a slice in less than a minute.
